Lexus OEM Alternators
Your Lexus car or SUV relies on the alternator to provide electricity for many parts and systems. How it works is simple. It takes the mechanical energy produced by the engine and transforms it into electricity.
How Lexus Alternators Work
The crankshaft takes the vertical motion of the engine pistons and converts it into rotary motion. That moves a belt attached to a pulley located on your rotor shaft. Inside the rotor shaft, magnetic coils get agitated by the motion and produce a magnetic field. That's then captured as AC power by a rectifier, which then converts it into the DC power your ES 350 sedan uses. A voltage regulator manages the power and uses it to charge the battery and operate such parts as your windows, wipers, entertainment system, and more.
